Providence Health & Services Specialist - Clinical Support Services in Valdez, Alaska
Providence is calling a Specialist - Clinical Support Services (Medical/Surgical Dept, Variable Shift, 0.6 FTE) to Providence Valdez Medical Center in Valdez, Alaska.
The Specialist of Clinical Support Services provides oversight and processes instruments for sterilizing, responsible for organizing and maintaining all sterile instruments and packs and responsible for maintaining the sterile processing area.
In this position you will:
Effectively manage the sterilization process. This includes OR packs, ER, general nursing area and delivery instruments and packs, as well as special packs and other necessary instruments and for flashing instruments in the OR.
Prepare and assemble equipment and supplies necessary for scheduled and emergency surgical procedures.
Work with physicians and clinical team to set up patients and perform testings.
Ensure that inventory levels for assigned areas on stock items and forms are consistently held at a level that facilitates adequacy of supplies and at the same time, maintains an optimal inventory turnover ratio and rotates outdated stock.
Demonstrate understanding of and carry out individual resident's care according to Standards of Care and the Residents Daily Care Plan.
Need to work calmly in high stress situations such as during a code, assisting with minor and major emergency visits, setting up for a Labor and Delivery and assisting with the body of the deceased.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Completion of a basic nursing assistant course approved by the Alaska State Board of Nursing
Current unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State of Alaska
Valid State of Alaska Driver’s license
3 years of experience as a CNA
Experience in purchasing, including inventory control
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Certified and Registered as a Central Service Technician (CRCST)
