Providence RN - Specialty Clinic Coordinator ($10,000 Sign On Bonus*) in Seward, Alaska
Providence is calling a RN Specialty Clinic Coordinator (Nursing , Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Prov Seward Medical Center in Seward, Alaska. We are offering RNs who are not currently working for Providence or one of our affiliates a $10,000 sign on bonus to join our amazing nursing team! $5000 on your first paycheck and $5000 at 12months. Repayment would be required based on a prorated amount if you do not complete the minimum retention requirement.*
In this position you will:
Oversee the daily system and operational activities of the Specialty Clinic to include the physicians, visiting physicians', contracts and space use agreements. Collaborates with Senior Manager of Patient Care Services, relating to the delivery of patient care within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses Standards for Nursing Practice for nursing caregivers.
Responds to incoming calls from patients, families, physicians, and referral sources: Provides general information about infusion, outpatient, and specialty clinics in response to inquiries. Collects sufficient and appropriate referral information determine a prospective patients service needs.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and coordinates delivery of plan of care, including medical staff and PAMC Pharmacy, etc.. Demonstrates professional responsibility and accountability for own practice and supports the department's philosophy of patient and family-centered care.
Assign and coordinates referrals.
Work collaboratively with Administration to identify and recruit physician specialties.
Maintain close communications with outpatient physician and other referral sources in relationship to issues around patient referrals, discharge plans, and visit needs.
Start IVs and manage IVs during procedures.
Provide patient care during pre and post injection procedures.
Assist with a variety of outpatient procedures, exams and/or operation of diagnostic equipment as applicable and assigned (i.e. colonoscopy, endoscopy, etc.).
Maintain appropriate aseptic technique for preparation, procedures and administration of medications.
Prepare exam rooms, sterile instruments, equipment and supplies, and ensure that stock of supplies is maintained.
Assures appropriate patient care documentation, use of standard forms and standardized patient teaching materials.
Assist with development and maintenance of systems for communication with pharmacy, billing, hospital staff and physicians.
Obtain preauthorizations from insurance companies.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Graduate of accredited School of Nursing
Current Alaska State Registered Nurse license.
Current Driver’s license.
BLS and ACLS certifications.
Two (2) years Direct patient care/clinical experience, preferably with one year infusion experience.
One (1) year Computer experience with infusion software, electronic medical records (EPIC), Microsoft Word, and Excel
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
