Providence Health & Services RN Case Manager (Temporary) in Seward, Alaska

Description:

Providence is calling an Registered Nurse (RN) Case Manager (Nursing, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE, Temporary position with a 3-6 month commitment, temp housing or stipend, vehicle and benefits offered) to Providence Seward Medical Center in Seward, Alaska. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.

In this position you will:

  • Assist in decreasing liability risk factors for the institution by applying quality screens to medical records and analyzing data for potential risks.

  • Educate, consult for, and learn from the Medical Staff and other health care providers in regards to the fiscal impact of their practice.

  • Participate in case reviews to promote competencies, problem solving, and patient management with physicians in meeting our patients’ medical and social needs, as well as the organization’s systems needs across the continuum.

  • Maintain communication channels with Patient Admissions staff, the patient account department and financial counselors.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Graduation from accredited school of Nursing

  • Licensed as Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Alaska

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card from American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire

  • Maintain mandatory and required certifications

  • 2 years of clinical nursing experience

  • Ability to communicate (written and verbal) well and interact with multiple health care professionals, including medical and allied staff

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • 1 year of Utilization Management-review and Discharge-planning experience

Teams are self-managed, have consistent staffing, and have strong patient to caregiver ratio. Caregivers typically have 5:1 patient ratio and work 12-hour shifts.
