Providence Health & Services Attendant Housekeeping *1.0/Variable*$1000 Sign-On Bonus* in Seward, Alaska


Providence is calling an Attendant Housekeeping (LTC Central Services, Variable Shift, 1.0 FTE - 40 hours a week) to Providence Seward Mountain Haven in Seward, Alaska. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.

$1000 Sign-On Bonus (sign on bonus are not for current internals)

In this position you will:

  • Washing walls, windows, trashcans, kick boards on doors, air exchange vents, throughout the facility as needed.

  • Clean and organize housekeeping cart and stock housekeeping supplies in janitor closets.

  • Wipe down and clean dressers, nightstand tables, TV’s, book shelves, light fixtures, and door knobs in elders’ rooms.

  • Clean mirrors, shelves, sinks, tiles, toilet (inside and outside surface), and handrails in bathrooms.

  • Wipe walls, sinks, and hoppers (inside and outside surface) in the soiled laundry room.

  • Clean trashcans and laundry buckets inside and outside.

  • Clean shower room and spa (tiled floor and walls) including shower curtain.

  • Wash and clean chairs, tables, over bed tables, TV’s, sinks, bed, mattress and counters in hearth and kitchen areas.

  • Wipe down desk, chairs, shelves, and widow blinds in office areas and vacuum carpet.

  • Clean Physical Therapy spa, toilet, treatment room, hallway, vacuum carpet and bench area.

  • Dust mop and damp mop floor. Use electrical equipment such as shampooer, wet vacuum, etc. Remove heel marks, streaks, and foreign matter from floor and baseboard.

  • Sweep and mop tiled floor.

  • Keep equipment storage area and housekeeping closet locked, organized and clean.

  • Stock general housekeeping supplies.

  • Clean glass and doors in entries.

  • Attend all mandatory meeting and classes.

  • Collect trash from the Green House homes and commons and transport waste material to disposal site.

  • Take dirty rags to laundry at the end of shift.

  • Practice universal isolation precautions when working in all areas of the facility. Adheres to the safety requirements for daily operations. Washes hands, wears gloves and protective measures and cares for equipment according to procedures. Cooperates with other staff to maintain safe, comfortable, and attractive environment.

  • Ensure that equipment and supplies are adequate and in good working order. Needed repairs are reported by using maintenance request forms.

  • Assist in the orientation of new employees in the department upon the direction of the manager. Attends mandatory in-services required of all facility employees as well as those designated by the department.

  • Demonstrate dignity, respect, honesty, and integrity in working with other staff, residents, family members, and visitors while conducting oneself in a businesslike and professional manner.

  • Maintain confidentiality of all resident medical and personal information or resident and facility financial information obtained while performing the duties of the job and from anyone who does not have authorized access to such information.


Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • H.S. Diploma or GED

  • Previous experience in a health related facility or one year in janitorial services.

  • Basic floor care knowledge and knowledge in institutional chemicals, equipment, and supplies

Teams are self-managed, have consistent staffing, and have strong patient to caregiver ratio. Caregivers typically have 5:1 patient ratio and work 12-hour shifts.
