Providence Health & Services Physical Therapist in Kodiak, Alaska
Providence is calling a Physical Therapist to Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center in Kodiak, Alaska.
The Physical Therapist will plan and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy programs to restore function and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of body part.
In this position you will:
Evaluate patient/residents physical, social, emotional, and cognitive skills as related to his/her prognosis and plan and implement treatment in concert with physician’s orders and in accordance with professional standards.
Provide direction and guidance to other caregivers to assist them in following through on the therapeutic plan of care.
Provide physical therapy services in Inpatient, Outpatient, Care Center, and Home Health settings.
Document all aspects of care and outcomes in a manner that is clear to others and that meets service standards.
Plan for patient/resident discharge with attention given to home programs, equipment arrangement, and patient/resident family education.
Provide patient/resident family education in a variety of physical settings and develop community educational or screening programs as needed.
Assist in promotion of the department through community awareness outreach projects.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy
Current license to practice Physical Therapy in the State of Alaska
Basic Life Support (BLS) or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
Current Alaska driver’s license with clean driving record and proof of vehicle insurance
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Master’s or PhD
1 year of experience in physical therapy
