Providence is calling a Supervisor ( Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.

In this position, you will:

  • Use independent judgment, effectively recommending and/or taking action related to interviewing hiring, transfers, promotions, evaluating performance, low census, layoffs, disciplinary action and employee complaints and concerns

  • Assist in the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets. Primary responsibility for scheduling and staffing of shift/work team. Make adjustments in daily schedules according to changes in staffing needs, due to patient census or acuity. Primary responsibility for daily analysis of performance against budget. Accountable to learn and use tools to assist with this analysis.

  • Provide clinical care and role models the department practice model. Assist with the development, modification and implementation of patient care standards, policies, procedures and protocols. Establish clear clinical practice expectations for patient care areas using department philosophy.

  • Initiate activities which promote and support department and Quality Improvement plans. Effectively support QI program and encourages caregiver and physician participation in development of expected outcomes. Accountable to learn and use tools to assist with the analysis of QI data.

  • Use independent judgment to assign work to team members and to responsibly direct team members. Create supporting systems that enable and empower team members to jointly plan and deliver care. Role models collaboration and partnership with physicians, primary team members and other departments.

  • Assist in the development, implementation and modification of programs and services needed to meet patient care and staff development needs. Exercise independent judgment to implement plans for daily operations.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelors degree in Physical, Occupational, or Speech Therapy

  • Physical, Occupational, or Speech Therapy licensure required in the State of Alaska

  • 3 years of clinical experience in area of clinical specialty

  • BLS required within 3 months of hire

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Masters, Ph.D. OR Doctorate degree in Physical, Occupational, or Speech Therapy

  • 2 years Clinical experience in professional area demonstrating progressive leadership
