Providence Health & Services Supervisor - Environmental Services in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a Supervisor (Environmental Services, Evening Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
In this position you will:
Understand the needs of the customer and prioritize work assignments and team efforts toward meeting these needs.
Ensure that the processes, systems and tools which enables the Environmental Services teams to support the customer and hospital needs, are available and are used.
Assist with the coordination of Environmental Services work activities effecting other areas in a manner that minimizes disruptions and inconveniences of the customer.
Clearly and consistently communicate agreed Environmental Services priorities and desire outcomes to Environmental Services staff.
Hold regular staff meetings to communicate to staff all appropriate issues, data trends and changes on a routine basis and in a manner that fosters understanding and feedback. Appropriately credit team members for the effort and accomplishment of desired outcomes.
Routinely review the performance of Environmental Services teams against key indicators, and take action when necessary to improve outcomes.
Make decisions affecting the operation budget in a manner which produces cost effective results.
Review the total hours worked by Environmental Services teams to ensure that records, including work orders, labor reports, purchasing, shared resource documentation, etc., meet applicable standards such as JCAHO, State and Federal agencies, and other regulatory guidelines.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school graduate or equivalent
4 years of progressively responsible Environmental Services management experience
2 years of Environmental Services experience in a health care setting
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- 1 year in a leadership role
