Providence Scheduler II - PIC in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a Scheduler II (Scheduling, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Imaging Center in Anchorage, Alaska. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
In this position you will:
Accurately schedule patient procedures and appointments for PIC.
Accurately interview and retrieve specific information from the patient, family or other representative in a sensitive, respectful and confidential manner.
Demonstrate excellent customer service skills in all interactions with clinicians, patients and PIC personnel by conveying a positive attitude and supporting our Service Excellence standards
Place outgoing calls and answers all incoming calls using correct phone etiquette and exemplary customer service skills
Communicate with patients to provide accurate price estimates for various procedures performed within the PIC facility
Accurately complete documentation for the registration process including, but not limited to, patient demographic and insurance information and obtaining pre-authorization from insurance, if applicable to job
Collaborate with co-workers, clinician offices and other departments to ensure a team environment.
Assist with a wide range of department specific duties and activities to maintain maximum productivity as determined by supervisor
Actively participate in Quality Improvement programs by identifying opportunities and recommending solutions.
Responsible to obtain the necessary knowledge and experience to perform job tasks in compliance with federal, state and local laws, regulations and guidelines.
Complete competency plan for assigned job and department.
Required qualifications for this position includes:
High school graduate or equivalent
Competent computer and keyboarding skills
Experience with multi-line telephone systems, personal computer, printers, copiers and fax machines
Preferred qualifications for this position includes:
Six (6) months in Clerical background involving public contact, preferably medical
Ancillary department (such as Radiology), clerical or Admitting Representative/Scheduling specialist experience

Providence Imaging Center (PIC) is an independent diagnostic testing facility for outpatient medical imaging, located on the east side of the Providence Alaska Medical Center campus. PIC completed an expansion, which added 8,000 square feet, and several pieces of new equipment and 23 dedicated PIC parking spots conveniently located adjacent to the facility. Board –certified Radiologists and a team of highly qualified trained technologist and professional clerical staff are dedicated to providing clients with high quality imaging exams in a caring comfortable and convenient environment.
