Providence Health & Services RN Triage - Telephone Triage *0.6/ Nights* in Anchorage, Alaska


Providence is calling a Registered Nurse (RN) (Telephone Triage, Night Shift, 0.6 FTE) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.

In this position you will:

  • Provide nursing triage and physician referral services to callers and/or walk-in patients using sound nursing assessment skills and following approved protocols.

  • Document all encounters with patients seeking health advice for QI and risk management, clearly demonstrating the nursing process.

  • Utilize current hardware/software systems. Attend training opportunities.

  • Demonstrate competency and knowledge in utilization of specific department equipment.

  • Communicate in a positive to establish relationships and maintain high quality care.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Nursing degree/diploma required upon hire.

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or higher within 3 years of hire.

  • A RN with 20 years of RN experience will not be required to obtain a BSN.

  • Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case by the most senior administrative nursing leader in consultation with the Human Resources leader.

  • Current RN license in the State of Alaska.

  • Washington and Oregon state RN license within 90 days of hire.

  • Three (3) years recent clinical experience in any of the following suggested areas; home health, tele health, medical-surgical, critical care, emergency, pediatric or maternal-child health nursing.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing.

  • Five (5) years recent clinical experience in any of the following suggested areas; home health, tele health, medical-surgical, critical care, emergency, pediatric or maternal-child health nursing.
