Providence Health & Services RN - Telephone Triage in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a Registered Nurse (RN) - Telephone Triage (Nursing, Variable Shift, 0.5 FTE) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
In this position you will:
Provide nursing triage and physician referral information to general public via telephone and/or in person.
Assess appropriate intervention using nursing process.
Document all encounters with patients seeking health advice for QI and risk management, clearly demonstrating the nursing process.
Utilize current hardware/software systems.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Alaska
5 years of recent clinical experience in any of the following areas: medical-surgical, critical care, emergency, pediatric or maternal-child health nursing
Excellent telephone, verbal and interpersonal skills, including listening skills and counseling
Knowledge of commonly used medications and their effects
Knowledge of medical terminology and equipment
Ability to observe, evaluate and report reaction changes in the physical and mental conditions of patients
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN)
