Providence Health & Services RN - Risk and Patient Safety Specialist in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a RN Risk and Patient Safety Specialist ( Patient Safety , Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. In this position you will:
Performs risk analysis in order to maintain protection of organization's assets; Investigates any incidences that may result in asset loss; and compiles findings in reports for further review, along with actual or potential injury to patients and visitors, collecting information necessary to prepare for defense of claim.
Provides investigative support (medical record and relevant document review, identification of witnesses and involved parties, interviews of caregivers and vendors, research of related standards of care) for potential or actual events, privacy breaches, professional and general liability claims, and regulatory or accreditation agency related reviews of occurrences or deficiencies.
Provides investigative and other support for Root Cause and Intense Analyses
Performs case finding per Interdisciplinary/Department Specific, Medical Staff Indicators for peer review in collaboration with the quality department.
Conducts risk analysis related to losses that may occur and make recommendations for loss control and prevention.
Consistently demonstrates and incorporates principles of safety and infection control into daily activities as outlined in Environment of Care and Infection Control manuals.
Provides education to a diverse set of organizational staff.
Participate in education of Caring Reliably and HRO for staff
Models and supports implementation and maintenance of High Reliability concepts and principles. Facilitates High Reliability classes to caregivers and providers as needed.
Develops reports for pertinent committees and leaders; collaborates with data analysts
Participates in proactive risk assessments, utilizing failure mode, effects and criticality analysis techniques, encourages event reporting across all levels of the organization so that processes can be evaluated and patient safety improvement identified.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's degree clinical discipline or health care related field or related experience.
CPHRM required within 2 years of hire
5 years Healthcare related experience in a responsible position requiring contact with various departments. Two of the five years required must be clinical patient facing experience.
