Providence Health & Services Respiratory Care Equipment Technician in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a Respiratory Care Equipment Technician to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. This is on the day shift - 36 hours per week.
The Respiratory Care Technician provides technical support to the department, cleaning and maintaining equipment, ordering supplies, and stocking work areas. Also performs patient-care related duties, including performing oxygen rounds, taking basic vital signs (heart rate, respiratory rate, and pulse oximetry reading) and patient charges.
In this position you will:
Verify physician orders for oxygen therapy, check patients against department records and submit patient charges for oxygen therapy.
Perform a basic respiratory assessment to include heart rate, respiratory rate, and pulse oximetry reading.
Reports results to the Charge Therapist, the Respiratory Therapist, and/or the RN caring for the patient.
Maintain accurate, timely, and legible documentation in the patient’s medical record and in department records.
Assemble and disassemble all types of respiratory care equipment.
Follow aseptic technique and universal precautions at all times, using proper technique in hand washing and care of equipment.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school graduate or equivalent
Good communication skills and basic computer skills
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Completion of the patient-care technician (PCT) training
Completion of Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or enrollment in an accredited Respiratory Therapy education program
