Providence Health & Services Registrar - Cancer Registry in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a Registrar in our Cancer Registry to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. This is a full time position on the day shift.

In this position you will:
Assist in the planning and direction of Tumor Registry applications and databases in coordination with MIS and vendors.
Be in communication with the tumor registry supervisor as to the needs and maintenance of the tumor registry software in regards to database changes, software upgrades, report writing and interfaces.
Attend to scheduling, documentation and communication with participants for the Area-Wide Cancer Conference and any other tumor board that comes under the jurisdiction of the Tumor Registry, as well as maintain a dinner meeting calendar for the educational meetings.
Be responsible for casefinding, abstracting, follow-up, quality control and 10% audits of the abstracted cases with completeness, timeliness and data quality.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Training in tumor registry or completion within 2 years of hire
Certification by the National Cancer Registrars Association for Tumor Registry (CTR), or obtain within 24 months of hire
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Proficiency in computer database and registration, word processing and email
Knowledge in graphics and spreadsheet applications
Superior organizational skills
Medical terminology course or previous work experience
Previous tumor registry experience
