Providence Health & Services Registered Sonographer - Maternal Fetal Medicine* on call in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a Registered Sonographer I (Pmg Maternal Fetal Med, Days, 0.0 FTE) to Providence Physician Service Organization in Anchorage, Alaska. In this position you will:
Perform a variety of diagnostic sonographic procedures in accordance with department, and national standards. Review the patient record prior to examination, and obtains a history from the patient.
Responsible for accurately completing daily records. Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement information, necessary to meet accreditation standards.
Responsible for calibrating, maintaining and basic troubleshooting of sonographic equipment. Optimize equipment and supplies to maximize department operations, and minimize patient time.
Stock work area daily. Will be involved in stocking general supplies and ordering as requested. Comply with department and hospital safety standards. Practice Body Substance Isolation. Complete education as necessary to maintain licensure or certification required for job. Assist in the orientation and training of new employees.
Communicate with physicians, nurses and other members of the team concerning patient status, diagnosis, samples for testing or related information. Operate multiple communication and telecommunication systems. Coordinate scheduling of tests.
Implement care/services that recognize age/diversity specific needs/issues of customers served.
Complete Competency Plan for assigned job and department.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Completion of an AMA accredited ultrasound program (minimum one year in length) Or Associate's Degree in a related health care field with credentials from the American Registry Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.
Registry credentials with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in a minimum of the abdominal specialty.
Maintains current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
2 years of experience in General sonography in abdomen, OB/Gyn.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:

First Trimester Screening experience.
