Providence Health & Services Radiation Therapist in Anchorage, Alaska

Description:

Providence is calling a Radiation Therapist to Radiation Oncology to Providence Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. This is a full time day shift position.

The Radiation Therapist will provide overall care of patient relative to radiation therapy. Perform radiation therapist responsibilities. Work with staff and other related persons in the application of ionizing radiation treatments to patients.

In this position you will:

  • Deliver the prescribed planned course of radiation therapy.

  • Observe patients for unusual reactions and recognize signs and symptoms of developing complications during treatment.

  • Maintain department records of daily treatment.

  • Report any erratic operation of equipment, related to patient/personnel safety.

  • Observe radiation safety measures and report any discrepancy that does not meet N.R.C. regulations.

  • Perform basic calculations for emergency treatments.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Successful completion of approved Radiation Therapy program

  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. A.R.R.T. or Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (C.A.M.R.T).

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certifcation

Preferred qualification for this position include:

  • 1 year experience as a Radiation Therapist
