Providence Health & Services Psychiatric Consultation Liaison Clinician in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling Psychiatric Consultation Liaison Clinician (1.0 FTE, Day shift ) to Providence Behavioral Medical Group in Anchorage, Alaska.
The Psychiatric Consult Liaison Clinician serves as member of the inpatient psychiatric consult liaison (CL) service, demonstrating clinical expertise in the provision of services involving psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment, planning and implementation, and crisis intervention.
In this position you will:
Interview and observe the patient to assess the disease process of behavioral health issues; including physical, psychosocial, spiritual, education needs, cognitive status, and safety.
Gather data from family members and assess patient/family and resources for the purpose of developing plan of care.
Develop and coordinate the plan of care with both medical and nursing staff throughout the course of stay.
Provide information to PHSA staff about behavioral health services available to them and their families.
Provide consultation to case managers/discharge planners for the facilitation of applications for follow-up care programs in and outside the PHSA system.
Maintain professional education by participating in continuing education offerings to support professional development and licensure.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Social Work, or health related field
Current licensure in the State of Alaska as Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Marital and Family Therapist (LMFT),
2 years clinical experience in behavior health
Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to establish and maintain the confidence and cooperation of patients, families, and persons contacted in the course of work
Knowledge of: principles and techniques of mental health counseling, techniques of observing and assessing behavior, emotional, social, psychological and environmental problems
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Knowledge of discharge planning and utilization review
