Providence Health & Services Practice Support Specialist - Family Medicine Center in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a Practice Support Specialist (Providence Family Medicine Center, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) in Anchorage, Alaska. We are a community of caregivers delivery every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
In this position you will:
Organize and expedite flow of work according to department standards and guidelines.
Assist with patient scheduling on an as needed basis. Work with clinical staff for high priority appointment scheduling. Make reminder calls for appointments.
Ensure patient records contain appropriate authorizations and all associated documentation is complete.
Assist with department specific audits/projects and reporting requirements. Research, collect, assemble, and/or verify data/information.
Greet patients in a professional and courteous manner. Assist and resolve patient inquiries (scheduling and billing, on an as needed basis) appropriately and in a timely manner.
Answer incoming calls using courteous phone etiquette. Assist with routine questions and inquiries regarding patient appointments.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school diploma or equivalent
Working knowledge of scheduling and registration systems in a medical office setting
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- 2 years administrative experience in a medical office setting
