Providence Health & Services Pharmacy Technician II in Anchorage, Alaska

Description:

Providence is calling a Pharmacy Technician II (Pharmacy, Variable Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.

In this position, you will:

  • Be responsible for distribution of controlled substances inventory and discrepancy resolution under supervision of a registered pharmacist

  • Be responsible for inventory control and preparation of IV and oral bulk packaging under supervision of a registered pharmacist

  • Be responsible for Aseptic preparation of compounded sterile preparation

  • under supervision of a registered pharmacist

  • Be able to perform all Pharmacy Tech I duties under supervision of a registered pharmacist

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Licensed as a Pharmacy Technician by the State of Alaska

  • 2 years pharmacy technician in a hospital environment

  • Pass math skills competency

  • Have dexterity to manipulate all size syringes

  • Ability to lift pharmaceutical supply containers weighing approximately 20 pounds

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Color perception is helpful

  • IV Compounding and Chemotherapy
