Providence Health & Services Nurse Supervisor - Transitional Care in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a Nurse Supervisor (Transitional Care Nursing, Night Shift, 0.90 FTE) to the Transitional Care Center at Providence Transitional Care in Anchorage, Alaska. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible to all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
In this position you will:
Work closely with the Leadership team in maintaining the operations of the facility during assigned shift.
Foster change and teamwork within the facility.
Participate in the quality improvement projects within the department.
Collaborate with all appropriate departments to promote optimal resident centered care and customer service.
Act as resource for staff, providing guidance and support for those making resident care decisions.
Provide clinical care that role models the department practice.
Make rounds every two hours to observe the status of residents, staffing patterns and performance and environment conditions.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Current Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) license
1 year of experience as a clinical staff nurse
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card must be from American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
American Nurses Association Certification in Gerontological Nursing
Experience as a Charge Nurse in Acute or Long-Term Care

The Transitional Care Unit has a total of 52 beds with a variety of health rehabilitation issues (ages 20 and up). This is an exciting, busy unit with constant change, many admits, discharges.
