Providence Non-Invasive Cardiac Technician (on call) in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a Non-Invasive Cardiac Technician (E K G, Variables , 0.0 FTE) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. In this position you will:
Perform electrocardiographic exams, including 12-lead electrocardiograms, Rhythm electrocardiograms, Exercise Stress Tests, Pharmacological Stress Tests, Procainamide Challenge studies, monitoring of patients rhythm while physician does pacemaker checks/reprogramming, and monitoring of patient vital signs and oximetry readings
Respond immediately to all Code 99s
Enter daily charges and log book entries, enters correct patient and medication documentation, and maintains patient files, including paper and electronic files
Document brief patient history for all stress patients as well as vital signs and patient symptoms during the stress and recovery phases of these test
Recognize and maintains confidentiality of all patient and employee information
Maintain a work environment conducive to efficient department operation
Participate and promote department quality improvement process.
Respond to real or simulated emergency and disaster situations according to hospital procedure
Assist with departmental projects as assigned by the ECG Dept Supervisor
Complete initial and annual Competency Plan for assigned job and department
Required qualifications for this position include:
H.S. Diploma or GED
Current BLS certification
1 year patient care experience in an acute care setting
Experience in operating standard office equipment
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
2 years experience in ECG/Stress ECG in an acute hospital care setting
ECG transcription experience
ICD9 coding experience
Experience maintaining electronic patient database
