Description:
Providence is calling a Mental Health Therapist OPCD (Outpatient Chemical Dependency, Variable Shift, 1.0 FTE - 40 hours per week) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
CLINICAL DOCUMENTATION/TREATMENT PLANNING:
Identify patient clinical problems in diagnostic summary and incorporates them into treatment planning process utilizing JCAHO, program standards, and 12 step principles
INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING/ASSESSMENT:
Conduct individual chemical dependence counseling sessions
Perform patient chemical dependency assessments
Perform psychosocial assessments under direct supervision
GROUP COUNSELING:
Plan and facilitate group therapy. Utilizing 12 step recovery principles, functions as a solo, primary group therapist
DISCHARGE PLANNING/REFERRALS:
Maintain and utilizes community and national referral resources
CASE MANAGEMENT:
Maintain all federal and state confidentiality laws/regulations
Coordinate and participates in case staffings
Maintain communication with the treatment team regarding patient management
Meet regularly with Clinical Supervisor to review cases and for evaluation and feedback regarding clinical and work related performance
CRISIS INTERVENTION/MANAGEMENT:
Maintain poise under crisis conditions. Follows through on managing crises until resolution, i.e., patient placement or referral to the treatment team or Clinical Supervisor for further follow-up/case consultation or case consultation or case resolution
Qualifications:
Required qualifications for this position include:
Preferred qualifications for this position includes:
Interest in securing licensure in one or more of the following: Clinical Social Work (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT), Professional Counselor (LPC)
Six (6) months of experience in Chemical Dependency or Behavior Health treatment
Some experience with family therapy
