Providence Laboratory Outreach Technical Supervisor in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a Laboratory Outreach Technical Supervisor (Lab Outreach Admin, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. In this position you will:
Support the initiatives, business strategies, strategic plan and Mission of PH&S, PH&SA, PAMC and the Laboratory. Appropriately and effectively communicate these principles to staff and clients, fostering teamwork and collaboration. Act quickly to correct any observed behavior by Lab Staff which is contrary to a team atmosphere, quality service or professional behavior
Serve as a technical resource to all clients. Partner with Lab Outreach Manager to make regular visits to clients. These client visits include PH&SA regional affiliates
Provide on-going customer service and problem solving to customer base, internally and externally. Accountable for processing and delivery of client supplies. Assist in executing patient satisfaction strategies as requested to increase and maintain acceptable satisfaction scores
Provide education and training to laboratory based client service personnel, specifically on customer service and special handling of outreach specimens. Also provide education and training to clients on special handling of specimens or any computerized processes
Partner with LIS, Sales Team and Management to implement new accounts. This entails gathering all of the logistical information required for account set up and communication to laboratory management and staff on new account acquisitions. Assist Sales Team and Lab Management in preparing price quotes and presentations to prospective clients as requested
Work in conjunction with Lab Outreach Manager to develop and implement Lab Outreach Program
Supervise, train and coordinate lab couriers. Hold couriers accountable and ensures that specimens and supplies are picked up and delivered efficiently and appropriately. Also ensure that courier vehicles are maintained according to the appropriate schedules. Serve as back-up or adjunct courier as needed
Represent PAMC to community leaders and groups, including the medical community. Assist in the assessment of community needs and customer relations. Develop relationships with identified constituents
Communicate with members of the health care team concerning all area of laboratory outreach. Build strong teamwork amongst all laboratory staff and clients. Use critical thinking skills to resolve problems. Bring issues to Lab Management in a timely manner when warranted
Work in conjunction with Lab Outreach Manager to identify specific research issues and data needed; complete surveys on behalf of the laboratory. Maintain integrity of database; collaborates with other professionals to analyze and test assumptions; assists colleagues in understanding data needs and analysis; recommend courses of action
Required qualifications for this position include:
Completion of education and training equivalent to the requirements for a Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology program recognized by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), and successful completion of an examination at the MT or CLS II level administered by an agency approved by the NCHCA, or equivalent
MT (ASCP) or equivalent
Must possess and maintain valid driver’s license
2 years supervisory experience in a laboratory
