Providence House Supervisor Nursing (Night Shift) in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a House Supervisor Nursing (Patient Care Res Svcs, Nights, 0.9 FTE) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. In this position you will:
Work to assure appropriate placement of patients, monitor care provided on the nursing units and address concerns with the caregivers, charge nurses, supervisors and the unit/department management teams.
Provide consultation and direction for efficient operation and quality customer service.
Work collaboratively with caregivers and others to determine issues and corrective actions related to patient, family, provider or caregiver concerns.
Direct and collaborate with department/unit management team and charge nurses to help assure appropriate staffing and efficient use of resources.
Respond to codes and emergency situations, providing leadership and assistance as necessary.
Facilitate communication with patient care units, mortuaries, Medical Examiner, Organ Donation Program, next-of-kin, morgue/security and spiritual care regarding in-house deaths.
Work closely with staff to problem solve and assure that patient care needs are met. Interprets organizational policies and procedures of the hospital and patient care units/ departments as necessary Performs assessment rounds of all patient care areas at least once per shift
Required qualifications for this position include:
Graduate of an accredited/approved school of Nursing.
Bachelor's degree in Science in Nursing
5 years acute hospital experience as a staff nurse
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska
Preferred qualification for this position include:
- 2 years nursing supervisory/charge nurse experience
