Providence Health & Services Director of Hospice & Palliative Care in Anchorage, Alaska


Providence is calling a Providence Hospice & Palliative Care to Providence In Home Services in Anchorage, Alaska.

We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all – especially those who are poor and vulnerable.

In this position you will:

  • Maintain the Hospice Program's compliance with state and federal regulations.

  • Coordinate/integrate activities directly related to the Hospice Volunteer, Bereavement, Spiritual Care and Clinical Services through their respective coordinators.

  • Manage human resources to achieve highest levels of performance and employee satisfaction by retaining, developing and attracting the most competent employees. Ensure formal workforce planning process is in place and goals are being achieved.

  • Work with Director of Finance, Executive Medical Director and Executive Director to prepare budgets and service contracts, and monitor their compliance throughout the year.

  • Oversee initiation of actions to improve department performance and the preparation of reports as required.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) OR Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW)

  • Current Alaska license as a Registered Nurse or Social Worker, consistent with educational preparation

  • Valid Alaska Driver’s License

  • Current vehicle insurance

  • Current Healthcare Provider CPR certification

  • 2 years progressive experience as a manger or program director in health-related services

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • 5 years experience in a Medicare certified Hospice program or Palliative Care Service
