Providence Health & Services Customer Service Representative - Pediatric Center in Anchorage, Alaska


Providence is calling a Customer Service Representative (Pediatric Center, Day, 0.8 FTE) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska.

Under supervision this position is responsible for greeting and screening Pediatric Center visitors.

This is a part-time position that will include 32 hours per week. The schedule will be 7am-3:30pm between Monday-Friday along with every other weekend.

In this position you will:

  • Serve as the first point of contact at the entrance of the Inpatient Pediatric Unit.

  • Serve as the emergency liaison between the Pediatric Unit and Security.

  • Maintain the inpatient process of issuing access and visitor screening for pediatrics.

  • Provide administrative support to management and staff.

  • Coordinate activities and information between the department and customers.

  • Represent Providence by coordinating exchange of information with attention to customer service.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Course completion within 90 days of hire

  • Job experience that includes computer data entry/word processing and general office skills

  • Exemplary customer service and organization skills

  • Experience with Microsoft applications, including Word and Excel

About the Pediatric Center

The Pediatric Center is dedicated to providing a full range of services to infants through young adults by using the latest medical equipment and technologies. We are committed to working with children, families and professional staff to create a comfortable setting to help families through the hospitalization of their child while maintaining the highest quality of care specific to each patients needs. Parents are welcome and encouraged to be with their child and participate in their child's care at all times.

The Pediatric Center is made up of two sister units that share common support space and professional staff. The Pediatric Unit is a 17-bed unit designed to meet the needs of families and children requiring hospital care for surgical, trauma, cardiac, endocrine, oncology, neurology and all other medical problems. The Pediatric Intensive Care is a 9-bed unit for children with critical illnesses or injuries and is the only place of its kind in the state of Alaska.
