Providence Health & Services Coder/Documentation Specialist - Home Health in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a Coder/Documentation Specialist (Home Health, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) at Providence In Home Services in Anchorage, Alaska. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
This is a full time, day shift role within our Home Health department.
In this position you will:
Coordinate coding processes and workflows related to OASIS submissions.
Access information systems that capture coding, master patient index, billing, and the electronic medical record information.
Participate in quality processing and productivity. Suggest ways to improve department operations.
Communicate with physicians and other health systems personnel to complete requests for work.
Support and /organize co-workers to meet department goals. Participate and support team decisions.
Assist on department specific projects and provide back-up support to other business office and administrative functions.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High School diploma or equivalent
Candidates not credentialed must complete one coding credential listed above through an approved program within 24 months of hire or assignment date
1 year clerical experience in office setting with operations of standard office equipment
1 year coding experience for candidates not certified
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Completion of a coding program
Credentialing as a Registered Health Information Management Technician (RHIT), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or Certified Coding Specialist-Physician Based (CCS-P), or Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
Experience in Home Health coding
