Providence Health & Services Clinical Dietitian Specialist Outpatient - Peds Subspeciality (on call) in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling an on call Clinical Dietitian Specialist Outpatient Pediatric (Pmg Ped Subspecialities, Days, 0.0 FTE) to Providence Physician Services in Anchorage, Alaska. In this position you will:
Ensure that medical nutrition therapy is evidence-based practice in accordance with current standards and as outlined in the Nutrition Care Manual updated semi-annually by the American Dietetic Association.
Establish work priorities to ensure smooth work flow and patient interaction.
Accurately determine and record a plan of care in the medical record using accepted charting formats and forms.
Consult with patients, physicians, nursing staff, therapists, pharmacists, coworkers, and other members of the patient care team keeping them informed of patient's nutritional progress.
Strong communication skills critical to managing interactions with a wide variety of people from differing literacy levels, languages, and cultures.
Provide nutritional counseling services required by other community agencies or private institutions as specified in contractual arrangement or as a resource allowing other department programs to succeed.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Masters of Science in Food and Nutrition or related field or Bachelors Degree in Nutrition related specialty and Advanced Certification in nutrition related specialty
Continuing education in accordance with policies determined by the American Dietetic Association for maintenance of registered status
Licensure in accordance with the laws of the State of Alaska
Current registration as a Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire
Preferred qualification for this position include:
- 3 years clinical experience in area of expertise
