Providence is calling a Certified Occupational therapy Assistant (Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to the Providence Transitional Care Center in Anchorage, Alaska. $10,000 Hiring Bonus for eligible external candidates who meet all conditions for payment - this is in addition to the fantastic benefits and compensation package offered by Providence that begin on your first day of employment.

In this position you will:

  • Evaluates residents with structured/standardized test per the OTR/L’s discretion. Gives the Occupational Therapist data for evaluation.

  • Writes treatment plan for resident’s therapy per the OTR/L’s discretion. Provides occupational therapy to residents. Documents goals and progress for the medical record according to facility guidelines.

  • Teaches staff, residents and family member’s therapeutic strategies for increasing independence with ADLs.

  • Orders inventory and equipment as needed. Evaluates and recommends adaptive equipment for increasing independence with ADLs.

  • Completes Competency Plan for assigned job and department.

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Associate's Degree Program in Occupational Therapy Assistant.

  • Must be nationally certified by NBCOT and licensed in the State of Alaska as a COTA (Alaska Occupational Therapy Assistant License)

  • Current BLS certification from American Heart Association upon hire or the ability to accomplish within thirty (30) days of hire required.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • 1 year Clinical experience with physical disabilities.

About the Transitional Care Neighborhood

The Transitional Care Unit has a total of 52 beds with a variety of health rehabilitation issues (ages 20 and up). This is an exciting, busy unit with constant change, many admits, discharges.

About the Team

Providence Home and Community Care (HCC) is a service line within Providence with over 8,000 caregivers and 2,000 volunteers serving nearly 200,000 people a year, in their homes, in clinics and in a variety of congregate living ministries across our seven-state footprint.

HCC provides a full range of services and support for people of all ages, especially those facing chronic or life-limiting illnesses. Our core competencies include restorative care, longitudinal care and care through the end of life. Our service lines include assisted living/skilled nursing/rehabilitation, home health, home infusion/pharmacy services, home medical equipment, hospice and palliative care, Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), personal home services/private duty care and supportive housing.
