Providence Health & Services Certified Nursing Assistant - Therapy Aide *St Elias - 1.0/Day* in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a Therapy Aide (CNA) (Physical Therapy, Days, 1.0 FTE) at St Elias Specialty Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska. In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Perform patient related tasks and instruction, in which employee has attained competence, as specifically designated by the therapist. Prepare patient treatment area for care, aid therapist with patient care under direct supervision.
Transport patients to proper location according to the daily time schedule utilizing all necessary safety precautions in all areas of the hospital as requested.
Transport, transfer, and/or assist patient in and out of wheelchair, bed, tilt table, or stretcher safely without undue discomfort to the patient.
Arrange schedule so patients will arrive in department for their scheduled visit; delays will be reported to the therapists.
Assist patients as necessary for transfers, dressing and toileting.
Assist in the maintenance, care, and cleaning of equipment and supplies.
Demonstrate knowledge of and utilizes good body mechanics.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Graduation from high school or GED; or equivalent combination of related education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
Successful completion of an on-the-job training period, rendering competency in performance of required duties after a specified period of tim
Licensure as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Basic Life Support certification (BLS)
Preferred qualification for this position include:
- 1 year rehabilitative services experience or equivalent education and/or experience

St. Elias Specialty Hospital is owned by Providence Health System. The hospital has 59 beds, almost all private rooms. The facility features state of the art equipment to provide extended inpatient acute care for patients.
At St. Elias Specialty Hospital, we provide customized, physician-driven services for patients requiring longer stays in an acute care environment due to multiple or complex medical conditions. We are not a permanent placement for patients; rather we are an answer for many patients who are acutely ill and need to take the first steps towards rehabilitation or home.
