Providence Admitting Representative - PIC (part time) in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling an Admitting Representative (Scheduling, Days, 0.5 FTE) to Providence Imaging Center in Anchorage, Alaska. In this position you will:
Pre-register walk-in patients by personal interview for pre-scheduled exams that would include medical/surgical services. Complete all necessary paperwork, provides financial assistance packets, and estimation of charges upon request. Solicits telephone pre-registration for next day procedures using future schedules. The goal is to have 100% of pre-scheduled procedures pre-registered.
Perform patient check-in, in a timely manner. At time of check-in reviews each pre-registered patient's billing information to ensure billing priority is correct and to identify other payor resources which may take precedence over personal insurance (liability policy vs. medical policy). Also reverify ordering and cc clinicians. Task to be performed at all PIC locations.
Screen all pre-registered registrations for complete information and adherence to third party payor requirements.
Order scheduled exams for each patient accurately and in a timely manner.
Use proper telephone etiquette in accordance with established procedures.
Perform a high level of customer service in accordance with established procedures.
Resolve patient inquiries and complaints appropriately and in a timely manner.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school graduate or equivalent
1 year of experience in a customer service role
Computer and keyboarding skills
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Additional college classes in medical, business or finance
Healthcare, business office or admitting experience

Providence Imaging Center (PIC) is an independent diagnostic testing facility for outpatient medical imaging, located on the east side of the Providence Alaska Medical Center campus. PIC completed an expansion, which added 8,000 square feet, and several pieces of new equipment and 23 dedicated PIC parking spots conveniently located adjacent to the facility.
