Providence Health & Services Sponsored Project Analyst PSJH *Telecommute* in Alaska
Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Sponsored Project Analyst PSJH to work remotely within our footprint states: AK, CA, MT, OR, TX and/or WA.
We are seeking a Sponsored Project Analyst PSJH who will be responsible for coordination of assigned projects and program support needs that lead to and maintain standardization. Provides guidance on compliance with federal and non-federal regulatory requirements while identifying needs for policy updates. Tracks and reports performance metrics for the Office of Sponsored Projects to leadership. Manages transactional processes such as data review, financial entries, A/R, and A/P. Position is considered a mid-level role in the Sponsored Projects series. Caregivers in this position demonstrate high level analytical abilities, are able to work independently when necessary, exercise a moderate degree of professional judgment and are able to communicate complex information (mostly financial) in a clear, concise and professional manner with both internal (within the Providence organization) and external stakeholders. Access to sensitive information is expected, and knowledge of compliance and responsible use of sensitive data is an expectation. Positions in this classification are reserved for the Office of Sponsored Projects use only.
In this position you will:
Serve as point of contact to the rest of the organization and external Sponsors (excluding Federal) for complex issues, technical solutions, and Sponsored Project processes they oversee.
Manage Sponsored Project post award administration activities such as preparation of JE's, financial reports, Accounts Receivable analysis, project setup/close activities, and monitoring compliance through quality control procedures.
Engage in budget analysis and projection, preparation of financial reports, monthly expenditure review, reconciliation, and preparation for project close-out. Monitor project accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Interact with accounting and the general ledger to transfer costs/revenue, change accounts, set-up/close activities in the official record, and generally manage the financial performance of sponsored projects.
Review of financial data for accuracy as part of a month-end process or as requested by leadership.
Generate reports as requested by leadership.
Participate and/or assists in special projects, and performs associated administrative duties, as assigned; may provide functional direction to lower level staff on assigned work.
Cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with internal stakeholders as well as external sponsoring agencies.
Semi-Independent review of federal, state, and other sponsor publications, funding opportunities, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance with and identify exceptions to sponsor and organizational requirements.
Assist with grant development activities including general guidance on proposal and budget preparation, and funding requirements, and may assist with specific needs with regard to data gathering for grant submission.
Semi-independent negotiation and facilitation of typical Sponsored Project agreements and amendments, to occasional complex agreements with guidance from senior staff.
Coordinate receipt of awards and contract documentation in enterprise systems; maintains proposal and funding records in pre-award system (Cayuse).
Assist in drafting revisions and updates to organizational policies and procedures pertaining to Sponsored Projects in conjunction with compliance and federal regulations.
May assist with 1 or more Federally regulated Programs (e.g. Subrecipient Monitoring Program, Time and Effort Certification Monitoring Program, Indirect Cost Negotiation Program).
Required qualification for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Law, Public Administration or related field from college or university -OR- 4 years of applicable experience in healthcare, research, finance, accounting, education, or legal fields.
3 years Closely related experience in healthcare, research, finance, accounting, education or legal fields.
Preferred qualification for this position include:
Research-related certifications/Accounting; CRA, CCRP, CPA.
2 years Experience in research/grant/healthcare administration.
