Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Senior Program Manager Insights PSJH. This position works 100% remote and is open to candidates residing in Alaska, Washington, Montana, Oregon, California or Texas.

We are seeking a Senior Program Manager Insights PSJH who will serve in a leadership role over an assigned pillar on the Insights team. Responsible for program development, ongoing administration, operational objectives and resource management and often includes project management and consulting responsibilities. Typically manages the program budget and may manage people, often in an indirect capacity leading initiatives ensuring goals and objectives are met. Successful accomplishment of the primary accountabilities of the position will depend upon establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with a variety of persons at all levels of the organization, including facilitating objectives across departments and may serve as liaison with external vendors and consultants as necessary. Requires strong problem resolution, decision making, communication and partnering skills along with a combination of business functional knowledge and leadership skills.

The senior program manager is distinguished by responsibility for pillars that typically include complex system administration, such as Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE), which require thorough understanding of software development, data modeling, integration and design. Often includes working with mulitiple teams across the system and with external interfaces for system enhancements.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Serves as the primary program contact and lead liaison. Provides consulting support and is responsible for coordinating reliable, consistent, comparable and meaningful financial, operational and clinical data across the organization. Responsible for build, security, standard dashboards maintenance and build, quality assurance, catalog maintenance, and new reporting builds.

  • Actively participates in the implementation planning and execution for the Insights team, specifically for change management and the workflow and outputs of program team. Manages the structured reporting road map and develops, measures and tracks yearly goals.

  • Lead due diligence efforts for Insights projects that come from key stakeholders to determine scoping and recommend next steps to Insights leadership. Conducts strategic assessments and analysis.

  • Provides project management and facilitates chartered projects/initiatives from concept phase through transition to operations. Ensures tracking of financial, human, and technical objectives for each project. Provides project status reporting to sponsor, initiative owner, project team, and other stakeholders as requested. Develops project-specific escalation and issue management protocols.

  • Prepare and communicate operational results to various levels of leadership.

  • Develops relationships and integrates with cross-functional teams. Ensures efficient and effective communications and working relationships. Actively participates on and/or leads various committees, meetings, and workgroups.

  • Represents the Insights team and Providence St. Joseph Health to external stakeholders with a high degree of integrity and professionalism.

  • Develops and provide training to end-users. Leads content focus groups and presents at User Group and Regional and System Finance Partner meetings.

  • Supports other pillars by proving data extracts, data analysis, process design, and logical model development.

  • Leads the design, development, testing and deployment of tools for end user that allow end users that do not understand "big data" structures to use and analyze large amounts of complex data in quick and meaningful sessions.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field or equivalent education/experience.

  • 7 or more years of professional accounting and/or cost accounting experience.

  • 3 or more years of experience with financial analytics in the healthcare industry supporting operational departments.

  • 3 or more years of program management experience or equivalent experience that includes leading, training, project management or other relevant experience.

  • 2 years of experience in Dimensional Data Modeling and/or Star Schema design.

  • Possess an in-depth knowledge of health care operations and financing, including:

  • Healthcare finance (reimbursement, costing, quality and operating metrics).

  • Costing methodology and decision support systems.

  • Financial analysis and advance skills in Excel.

  • Listens with sensitivity and openness.

  • Actively seeks constructive feedback and remains open and receptive to it.

  • Informs and provides direct communication on reporting topics to the Executive Director

  • Anticipates the information needs of others.

  • Demonstrate effective written and oral communication and presentation skills and the ability to communicate complex financial information to diverse audiences.

  • Has the ability to present new ideas.

  • Anticipates and takes personal responsibility for customer satisfaction and service excellence.

  • Consistently goes out of the way to listen, understand, and support the needs of others in a sensitive manner.

  • Provides adequate materials for caregiver and users.

  • Performs challenging tasks efficiently and effectively.

  • Anticipates problems and takes corrective action prior to completing the task.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Administration or related field or equivalent education/experience.
