Providence Health & Services Accounts Receivable Associate in Alaska
Providence St. Joseph Health is calling an Accounts Receivable Associate to work remotely within our footprint states: AK, CA, MT, OR, TX and/or WA.
We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Associate who will be accountable for working accounts receivables for commercial or regulatory accounts and/or for follow up or denials for patient accounts.
In depth knowledge of Federal, State, Local and contract specific requirements is necessary to accurately function in a multi-payor environment. As regulations change weekly and often conflict between payors, determining appropriate action for each payor is complex.
Consistently maintain productivity and accuracy standards in a highly detailed environment and multiple based systems.
On a regular basis, analyze data and accounts and make financial decisions within authority that support the organization's financial security.
Building the culture of One Revenue Cycle.
In this position you will:
Extract, review and interpret billing statements, charge information, private or government insurance benefits, and other related information from multiple billing and documentation servers (for multiple hospitals, clinics and insurance companies) while resolving account balances.
Ensure appropriate use of adjustment codes and activity codes to allow for appropriate workflow and trending.
Proactively identify opportunities to improve business results and/or to alert business units of trends, anomalies or health plan rules and decisions that need attention.
Escalate unresolved issues appropriately and recommend solutions to minimize future problems.
Must meet primary productivity and performance standards
Make appropriate decisions on account activity consistent with approved authority levels.
Required qualifications for this position include:
- 1 year Experience in automated, computerized account follow-up system.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
High school diploma or GED equivalent and college coursework.
2 years experience in a hospital setting, health insurance claims processing or medical office.
Knowledge in reimbursement of health care accounts from insurance companies.
