Providence Health & Services Retail Pharmacy Technician I in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a Retail Pharmacy Technician I (Medical Arts Pharmacy, 1.0, Day shift) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska.
In this position you will:
Perform technical duties related to pharmaceutical care under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.
Use excellent customer service skills and communication to assist patients when dropping off or picking up prescription orders.
Accurately and productively assist the pharmacist in the prescription filling process and with compliance of local, state, federal, and company regulations as necessary.
Prioritize work duties to ensure efficiency and customer satisfaction at all times.
Utilize technical skills in performance of daily operations which may include accurate updating of patient profiles in software and computer entry of new and refill prescriptions, assist the pharmacist with filling prescription orders, accurate use of cash register, answering telephone calls, assisting the pharmacist with filling and maintenance of automation.
Collaborate with team members to utilize resources efficiently to ensure customer service is the top priority.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school diploma or equivalent
Pharmacy Technician Licensure in the State of Alaska; must submit current, valid and original Alaska Pharmacy Technician license at time of hire, copies of the license as well as the wallet card verification are not acceptable
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
6 months experience working as a technician in a retail or hospital pharmacy
Knowledge of drug names, generic and trade, drug strengths, and dosage forms
Insurance billing knowledge
Knowledge of computer operations and insurance systems
