Providence Health & Services Admitting Representative in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling an Admitting Representative (Providence Imaging Center, Day, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska.
The Admitting Representative maximizes reimbursement for patient services by 1) assisting the patient in the pre-admission process; 2) providing assistance to patients with special financial needs; and 3) screening pre-registration inpatient admissions to ensure that all third party payor requirements have been met.
The schedule for this position is 9:30am-6pm Monday-Friday along with every 5th Saturday.
In this position you will:
Pre-register walk-in patients by personal interview for pre-scheduled exams that would include medical/surgical services.
Perform patient check-in, in a timely manner.
Screen all pre-registered registrations for complete information and adherence to third party payor requirements.
Order scheduled exams for each patient accurately and in a timely manner.
Use proper telephone etiquette in accordance with established procedures.
Perform a high level of customer service in accordance with established procedures.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school graduate or equivalent
1 year of experience in a customer service role
Computer and keyboarding skills
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Additional college classes in medical, business or finance
Healthcare, business office or admitting experience
Familiarity with medical terminology

Providence Imaging Center (PIC) is an independent diagnostic testing facility for outpatient medical imaging, located on the east side of the Providence Alaska Medical Center campus. PIC completed an expansion, which added 8,000 square feet, and several pieces of new equipment and 23 dedicated PIC parking spots conveniently located adjacent to the facility.
